The Biggest reward of my life. Recently I finished my Associate Degree and was offered employment as an instructor the following week.

It is expensive, just like every other flight school but when investing so much money into yourself you need to support it with hard work to make the returns of the invest worthy. Other great things is the location at the RAAF base Point Cook, the friends I've made here, the solid banter and the staff are very helpful especially when I had family concerns in another state. Training and working under some of the best CFIs in the country is a honour and having their names on references for my next endeavour is a real privilege.

    4. Some of the instructors seriously don't care about their job. Some just don't know how to teach properly. Don't get me wrong, you have some really good instructors there, but you also have a lot of crap ones

Hard work and effort is rewarded, not just with good grades but scholarships, fly-away trips and employment opportunities.

If you don't want to get ripped off stay away from this flight school. They don't treat you like a paid customer. I'm a current student about to finish my Instrument rating, but I want to write a review to warn other potential students thinking about going here. Don't waste your time or money.

    2. The school only cares about money. To complete flight training here, you'll have to fork out about 120 grand, some of which can be deferred through fee help. Although that includes all of your ordinary flights, many students have to repeat flights due to numerous reasons. On average, students overfly by about 5-15 hours per semester. This can equate to about $6000 per semester in overflys! None of that can be put onto fee help. Also, when I was studying, you had to pay for theory to flying and the actually flying itself, although no theory sessions were delivered for the subject

If you overfly you will need to pay more but if you underfly you don't get a refund. No-one really complete their flight test on time, most students don't get to do their flight test at the end of a semester, and usually would be able to do the flight test early next semester. What they would do is to force you to re-enroll the flying unit (to pay another 20k) when you only have 2-3 flights left until flight test.

You're forced to enrolled to useless and pointless units that cost 3k each. 3k each just to teach you RPL,PPL,CPL, and ATPL theories which most can be self-studied. Good instructors have all left the school and currently only freshly graduated instructors from their own course were hired.

To be honest, if you have the financial power I would recommend training privately (small airfields like lilydale) and not go through these university flying programs. At least you would be treated better and without a massive debt.

    1. The chief flying instructor, Neil, is one of the biggest issues this school has. As a junior pilot, you're going to make some mistakes. This fella doesn't seem to believe in mistakes. He will criticise, shame and yell at you over small things, even though he should be supportive and try to help you address the issues. Also, sometimes you may have to complete your flight tests with him. Now anyone who has done a flight test knows it is a stressful experience, and having him yell at you during the flight puts you down and just sets you up for failure

    3. This is one of the biggest issues with the school. Negative energy. The place gives off such bad energy. This is probably caused by the fear of failure and the cost of overflys

Horrible flying school. I've made a list of the positives and negatives about it. Seriously, if you can, avoid going to this place.
